Although Mimaki will officially launch two models at Fespa in Barcelona next week, DGS Mimaki in Australia will be launching the JV400-160LX model in Australia at the Gold Coast show saying that stock of its SUV model should be available by the end of April.
Mimaki Japan have announced details of two new printers, the latex inkjet JV400-130/160LX printer and the solvent UV inkjet JV400-130/160 SUV printer saying that the JV400 product line achieves faster speed with a higher print quality.
The JV400-130/160LX features
A new, environmentally friendly, water based latex ink that is odourless and has very low VOC (Volatile organic compounds).
The world’s first ‘white’ latex ink that meets the needs of a signage market because of its adaptability to a wide range of printing media including transparent PET, window decoration, shatterproof window film and so on. In addition, the machine has an ink circulation system, Mimaki Circulation Technology, which prevents pigment sedimentation, provides stable ink-jetting and reduces the manual ink cartridge circulation.
Latex ink dries fast on its own, but the three heaters (pre, print and post) and drying fans equipped on the printer ensure an even faster drying time.
The newly-developed printhead enables a 4 picoliter minimum drop size. Using variable ink drop-size print mode, the printer is able to print a smooth gradation without a grainy appearance.
Mimaki accomplishes a low ink curing temperature of 60 degree C or even lower which means there are more media choices, including heat-sensitive materials. Depending on media, ink curing temperature may need to be 70 degree C or higher.
A print speed 18m²/h with four colour creating higher productivity.
The JV400 printers utilize 600ml ink packs in re-useable eco-cases so there is no need to change small ink cartridges during ink replacement. These eco-case cartridges can be re-used so they don’t have to be recycled, which leads to better ecological and economical production. White ink is supplied in 220ml ink cartridges.
